May 2008 Completed: Intake air plenum for Balcke Dürr Austria

After a tight period of fabrication, the 40 pieces of plenums with lengths of 2400 mm to 3000 mm and dimensions of DN 250 to 600 were delivered to Vienna. In total 2959 pipe connections, each with a diameter of 33,7 to 88,9 and wall thickness of 3,2 mm to 15,0 mm, were welded on plenums with a wall thickness of up to 36 mm.

The boiler component was fabricated out of the material X10CrMoVNb9.1 including steel heat treatment in the own furnace, as well as the non-destructive materials testing was made by Röhrs AG.
