January 2009 Boiler modification for the combined heat and power plant in Eisenberg, East Germany

At the Eisenberger Bioheizkraftwerk GmbH the piping installation division of Röhrs AG carried out the complete modification of boiler 2. Apart from the entire inner workings, all pipings had to be changed. The heating coils are daily exposed to a pressure of 43 bar and a temperature of 420 °C. More than 1000 welded connections passed the tightness test at 61 bar executed by the TÜV Thüringen. It was aimed therefore a much better limit load and therewith a corresponding quantum of safety.

For that reason, the rating of the both power plant leaders Mr. Hubert Blechschmidt and Mr. Volker Sosna was very affirmative (please see also the publication of the OTZ dated 08.10.2008).
