May 2010 Project Shell "Rheinpower II"
For the project "RheinPower II" Röhrs AG delivers the both fabric filter housings as well as the connecting flue gas ducts from transfer toward the stack. The fabric filters serve for flue gas cleaning and therefore for filtering airborne dust and pollutants resulting from the exhaust flow of the boiler.
The filters are presenting here the largest components to be delivered by Röhrs AG. Each with a weight of 220 tons and dimensions of up to 19 m, they are delivered largely in prefabricated units authorized for the road transport. The transport to the site will be made with the aid of circa 40 trucks. The components then will be lifted there in the steel construction by adequate cranes.
Theses so-called filtered gas chambers, each with a weight of circa 18 tons, will be lifted and erected with the aid of a 400-ton-crane on an approximately height of 28 m. At least for final completion, all components will be gas-tight welded by a welding team of Röhrs AG.
With filter housing and flue gas ducts Röhrs AG will have prefabricated and mounted on site in total 660 tons of steel until completion in September 2010.
